Albumprinter BV has installed an HP Indigo 50000 Digital Press, an oversized B1-sized, roll-to-roll press, enabling the company to benefit from higher capacity and efficiency for its photo brands serving the European market. The press is now operating at its production facility in The Hague.
Albumprinter brands include UK’s Bonusprint and Albelli in the Netherlands, Germany, France and Belgium. Fotoknudsen and OnskeFoto serve Norway and Sweden. It recently acquired Resnap, a startup with an app using artificial intelligence selecting the best pictures to create a photo album in just a few minutes.
‘The HP Indigo 50000 is the next step in the evolution of our Indigo-based photo printing business. We invested in our first Indigo in 2007. This latest investment ensures we can leverage and capture our current double digit growth in the business with the extra benefit of lower costs,’ said Albelli chief executive Tristan Money. ‘With the Indigo 50000, Albumprinter is capable of printing digitally in the B1 format, double sided. This format opens up a new world of applications, and imposition efficiencies, which are not possible on any other Indigo press.’
The HP Indigo 50000 Digital Press is a duplex B1 coloUr web press for high-quality, high-volume applications. The 746 x 1120mm image size provides the flexibility to print virtually any photo application including any size photo book, yearbooks, lay-flat books, long book covers and calendars.
The press offers enhanced image quality using six-colour printing with light cyan and light magenta photo inks that deliver smoother images and tone transitions. Light black inks enable high-end monochrome for professional black and white production.
Additional HP Indigo presses in the Albumprinter fleet include the HP Indigo 12000, HP Indigo W7250 and HP Indigo 6600p digital presses. Albumprinter’s Indigo journey began with an HP Indigo 5000 sheetfed press, growing with the HP Indigo W7200 (the first in EMEA), the W7250 and later the HP Indigo WS6600p for lay-flat books. Last year, Albumprinter installed its first B2 sized HP Indigo 12000 digital press.
